DESCRIPTION
The Louisiana Film Museum is a special place where people can visit and learn more about the history of movies that have been produced in Louisiana. Over 600 films and TV shows have been produced in LA since 1898, with another 180 films in production through 2011.
There is an impressive list of major motion picture and television stars that have played their role in contributing to Louisiana?s film industry. Some of these stars include Bette Davis, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Denzel Washington, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Roger Moore, Julia Roberts, Dennis Hopper, Cicely Tyson, Elvis Presley, Dennis Quaid, John Goodman, Jessica Lange, Richard Pryor, Jackie Gleason, James Spader, Dolly Parton, Susan Sarandon, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Yul Brenner, David Niven, Jimmy Stewart, James Mason, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Darryl Hannah to name just a few.
The Louisiana Film Museum features on permanent display a time-line of each of the major films produced in Louisiana, along with video clips, still photographs and cinema posters of the majority of these films.
