Richard brings nearly 20 years of experience to the DDD as Director of Operations. His primary responsibilities include managing the DDD’s public safety, cleaning and beautification programs in addition to overseeing planning and capital improvements projects downtown.
Prior to joining the DDD, Richard was involved in the start-up of several business ventures including early efforts to develop a clean program in the French Quarter. He also served as the Executive Director of the French Market Corporation where he spearheaded a redevelopment plan of the historic market sheds. He has worked with top levels in government, non-profit, and private sectors during his business career in New Orleans.
Richard has been active in several business and civic organizations including the French Quarter Business Association, French Quarter Festivals, New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute, and the Audubon Riverside Neighborhood Association. He received a BA from the University of the South at Sewanee and MBA from the University of Denver. He is married with two children.
