LaSwanda Green is the Economic Development Coordinator at the DDD and brings with her a background in management and business administration. A graduate of the University of New Orleans, LaSwanda also worked as the Special Projects Manager of UNO’s Small Business Development Center. In June of 2005 she received the statewide Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year Award from Governor Blanco.
As Economic Development Coordinator, LaSwanda communicates regularly with Canal Street business owners and managers to maintain a positive relationship with the DDD. She manages the Façade Improvement Grant and Micro Grant Programs and maintains support databases and programs for the DDD. LaSwanda is also passionate about promoting arts development Downtown and has worked to produce a strategic plan for program growth.
